 1.1  TOWN HISTORY

            Nattrampalli Town panchayat is a Selection Grade Town panchayat.It consists of  15 wards with 10400 Population. The area of  Town Panchayat is 7.20 Sq km. The town panchayat is situated near Jolarpettai. The Town Panchayat is situated Vellore – Bangalore NH main Road.

1.2  TOWN ADMINISTRATION

            Nattrampalli Town Panchayat  formed first grade in 1960 and  upgrade to Selection  Grade Town Panchayat in 1992 and functioning as such till date. The extent of the Town Panchayat is 7.20 Sq. KM. The population of the Town Panchayat is 10400 as per 2011 census, consisting men and women.

            The town was delineated to 15 administration wards. The Urban local Body elections were held on 25.10.2011 for the posts of Town Panchayat Chairman and 15 Town Panchayat Councillors.

1.1.  2  POLITICAL WING

             The Town Panchayat council the political arm of the Town Panchayat consists of 15 elected councilors each representing a ward . The chairman heads town panchayat council which performs its duties as per the provisions of the District Municipalities act 1920. The Political wing provides direction to the Town panchayat and performs its functions through a set of committees constituted for different purposes.

1.1.3 EXECUTIVE WING

             The Executive wing is responsible for day to day operations of the Town Panchayat and is headed by the Execuitve Officer. The Executive Officer is the Administrative head Town Panchayat functional department.

1.1.4        FUNCTIONAL DEPARTMENTS

             Nattrampalli Town panchayat consists of three functional deparments. Each department consists of head who reports to the Executive Officer and functions as per the responsibilities prescribed in the Act and as delegated by the Executive Officer.

                        The Town Panchayat council has adopted citizen’s charter for its various functions and to provide efficient and prompt civil services to the cictizens. According to the content of the charter, the Town Panchayat functions are transparent, accountable and responsiveness to the citizens of the town.

             The main occupation of Nattrampalli town panchayat population is agriculture. Nearly 85.00% of the working population are engaged in agriculture activities. The remaining 15% of workers are engaged in non – agriculture.
